The panduri is a traditional plucked chordophone from Georgia.

Origin: Eastern Georgia. Descended from the pandura
Description: three-stringed instrument, bowl-shaped resonator covered by a soundboard with two holes. Fingerboard having seven frets. Strings (usually nylon, historically animal gut) attached to tuning pegs.
Usage/History: Played seated or standing, player strums the strings using hand. Traditionally played by men, used to accompany solo heroic and love songs.
Subtypes: "folk" panduri having seven frets, "chromatic" panduri with same tonal divisions as Western guitar
