The chuniri is a Georgian bowed stringed instrument.

Description: hollow wooden cylinder covered with leather membrane on one end. Three horsehair strings. Bow made of beat stick and multiple strands of horsehair.
Usage/History: Traditional usage mostly for sorrowful occasions. Now played in an ensemble with changi (harp) and salamuri (flute).
Held vertically with resonator resting between knees.
