We just decided to add mood support to MB/LB. Now we need to decide which moods to use on the Arousal/Valence scale and come up with a simple graphic that outlines the two levels of moods we've discussed.

The list of choices should be limited to avoid being a confusing feature.
The basic 4 moods on Robert Thayer's valence-arousal diagram* (see image below) are:

      • Angry
      • Happy
      • Sad
      • Relaxed

I was thinking something along the lines of this diagram to also allow to select more nuanced moods:
(from the above image, I'm interested in the diagram type, not the contents of it)

Rate Your Music also has a selection of moods in their descriptors list (we could also include the Atmosphere section, as a lot of those feel like moods to me too). their moods currently are:

alternatively, MusicBee also has some built-in moods, tho not all of them feel like moods to me, but rather occasions (another MusicBee tag). I use most of these myself, both in my library and on MusicBrainz, since I submit moods with Picard. I already listed them on STYLE-2229, but I figure I'll copy them over here too:

          • Angry
          • Bewildered
          • Bouncy

Based on this ticket there might be a mismatch between what we want to develop (a mood system that allows us to build recommendation and radio tools) and what current users will expect (a useful tag to use to sort things like 'soundtrack' and 'work' that aren't genres, but help us listen to things based on 'vibe').

I also worry about us implementing a unique moods system, which works well on a graph/for our needs, but that contains tags that aren't used by our community. I'm not sure if we'll get the data we need in that case, MB/LB tends to do well when it 'rides' along with the third party apps that use our data.

It's likely I have gotten the wrong idea, but didn't want to hold back on my feedback so there it is
