I’ve started to try the challenge I’ve set myself to colour my map by listening to artists from every country on the globe, but I seem to have hit the maximum number of countries or artists predicted (but not quite confirmed) in that thread. Because looking at the stats for this year, Surinam was marked with one artist last week, but it no longer is this week, presumably because I have listened to artists from other countries that I hadn’t listened to this year.
If there were no limit to the number of countries that can show listens on the map, you would really be able to see the world map getting more and more populated throughout the year. And I think that would be pretty cool!
I don’t know what the limit is exactly; I counted 36 countries, which added up to 945 different artists in total, which is not the round number I’d expect (and I can’t have miscounted that much). The world map for last year’s Year in Music seems to have been limited to 50 countries, it would be nice if there were no limit for this year’s YIM either.
