Right now our documentation uses a custom google.com search, which is less than ideal, now that we have the great SOLR search we might want to use it or a derivant for our documentation?

The registration process to TechSoup has successfully completed a few days ago, now waiting for being granted access to MeB account at Google for Nonprofits.

Actually MeB applied to it years ago and got rejected for some forgotten reason. I just followed the registration process again and should have an answer within 7 business days.

I'm the one that created our custom google search engine.

I am assuming the metabrainz.org domain is an established Google non-profit account. If you give me your metabrainz email I can add it as an owner and that might allow you to make it a non-ad engine. Or at least allow you to download the definitions and create a new one under your MeB account in case there's any value in reusing whatever was originally setup.

Let me know, happy to help.

It seems doable to switch to the ads-free offer for non-profit at least.

First need to access to its control panel, otherwise will create a new instance.

This is probably non-news to most people around here.
The Google custom search includes advertisements at the top. In my case it's 4 links and each of them takes up more space than any MuiscBrainz result.
To add insult to injury, the ad section occupies the entire viewport. There are no desired results visible without scrolling.
I have attached screenshots showcasing the problem.

Is there no way to have ads removed for everyone in the meantime?

To be taken into account while choosing a new framework for documentation.
