Deselecting the "has a hidden pregap track" option from a tracklist results in an edit that looks like this. The changes weren't shown in the release editor preview either. Maybe because the track numbers weren't changed by the edit, only the track positions.

EDIT: Adding an example where other changes are made to the tracklist, but there is no indication that the position of the first track has been changed.
