Beginner is explicitly set for anyone without an email confirmation date, but I'm not sure that makes sense (it probably made more sense when we called that "Limited" editor, since they by definition are even more limited than others). Someone can have no email set (because they removed it) but have thousands of edits, making the "Beginner" indicator feel very out of place.
