The current Perl module dependency Email::Address suffers from a few issues, possibly including to the string encoding issues mentioned by jim delahunt. The drop-in replacement Email::Address::XS is even recommended by the maintainer of Email::Address. Our Perl dependencies already switched to it. It's definitely time to do it as well. It will result in small improvements for the recipient address.
