Boomplay now uses opaque, non-numeric identifiers in album URLs. MusicBrainz currently rejects these URLs because its Boomplay URL validation expects a numeric ID.

      Example new URL:

      https://www.boomplay.com/albums/EQUABbK_Gy8KOODzT4ow4hGX

      MusicBrainz currently reports:

This URL is not allowed for the selected link type, or is incorrectly formatted.

      The corresponding legacy URL is:

      https://www.boomplay.com/albums/134155234

Boomplay redirects that numeric URL to the new opaque URL above. This means existing MusicBrainz relationships use an obsolete URL format and are redirected by Boomplay.

A tracked URL may look like:

      https://www.boomplay.com/albums/EQUABbK_Gy8KOODzT4ow4hGX?srModel=openapi_featurefm&ffm=FFM_04511e3b346d53f7e395d55c79e0d5b5

      Expected normalized URL:

      https://www.boomplay.com/albums/EQUABbK_Gy8KOODzT4ow4hGX

      MusicBrainz should:

      • Accept Boomplay album identifiers in the new format.
      • Remove tracking query parameters.
      • Possibly, continue accepting legacy numeric URLs for backward compatibility.

Possibly, add a script that will normalise all existing URLs to the new format.
