Currently, when dealing with multi-part classical works, we append the aggregate work title + sub-work title. This is tradition since before NGS (there is no CSG works title guideline) but it's also out of necessity. Since the main work isn't listed when you search for a sub-work, say "work:allegro AND artist:"Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart" " you would get a long list of "Allegro" & you'd have to click on everyone until you find the exact string quartet you were searching for.
To stop this from having to enter all this redundant data into sub-works titles, I propose that the titles of the parent works (all levels, e.g. Opera -> Act -> Aria) is shown in the search results for works, and that parent work titles (again: all levels) is shown closer to the (sub-work) title in work overview pages.
After this change, titles of sub-works should not have any information besides the actual title. Example:
Top level work: Carmen
Second level work: Act III
Third level work: No. 21. Morceau d'ensemble
Not that while this proposal is similar to MBS-3374, this proposal is for a UI change only. I don't see the need for constructed (parent work title inherited and automatically appended) titles.
