Currently when adding releases that are in format DVD-video, content (read: recordings) are being added as "recordings".
It would be great if these recordings could automatically be marked as "video" when choosing the DVD-video format.

I mean a DVD-video disc only have video content, so it would save time if this could be added automatically instead going into each recordings and then separately and manually mark them as "video".

Yes, there could be checkboxes. But I think MBS-7017 is more important than this. At least recordings should not be automatically videos, without an easy way to mark it as not video.

We should display video check boxes and a button to check/uncheck all and default to checked for dvd, bd, vhs and other video formats.

There are some cases when DVD-Video recordings are not videos. Those may be videos technically, but contain just a still image. In my opinion, those should not be added as video recordings.

There is no video in Blu-ray Audio.
I think that I should divide like DVD. (Blu-ray Audio, Blu-ray Video)

I do have several Blu-ray concerts but I wouldn't mind that it would be not automatically set as video (keep current situation) because i've been told there were quite several audio Blu-rays too.

Video Blu-rays are common for live albums. I've also seen several (usually Japanese) albums and singles that come with a BD containing the music videos.

I've definitely edited a few Blu-Ray Audio classical albums, a few labels seem to be putting those out. Given Blu-Ray doesn't seem that common for music video either (or am I just not seeing them? possible too) I think that's one that could stay as-is.

It is still a relatively safe assumption that most BDs, at least those that interest us, contain video. It might be an (out of this ticket's scope) idea to split BDs by profile, similar to DVDs. But even these HFPA Blu-rays technically still hold video content in the form of their menu. So they might be no different from an ordinary BDMV.

For UMD, it's probably a similar case. But since they are so rare and can have mixed content, we can ignore them for purposes of this ticket.

          Not UMD.

Not Blu-Ray either, for that matter - http://regmedia.co.uk/2014/04/10/hfpa_mix_options.jpg

Besides DVD-Video, this should also apply to the other format types primarily used for video content:

          Betamax
          VHS
          LaserDisc
          HD-DVD
          Blu-ray

          Also these:
          VCD
          CDV
          UMD (probably?)
          Videotape
          SVCD
