Dates would definitely help disambiguate between artists with similar names, even if some of them aren't even in MB at the moment. Most recent case: someone used a Hungarian librettist dead 1943 for a current release instead of creating a new artist, which probably wouldn't have happened had the search mentioned he died in 1943
