We're seeing quite a few search server issues that mess with inline search ("An error occurred while searching"). They're usually short-lived, but there's no way to switch to direct search when they happen, so they basically block you from using the inline search for a while. Maybe we could just show the "Switch to direct search" option as well as "click to try again" when these errors appear?
