Sometimes I shoot myself in the foot when submitting a new release and it would be good if the edit system stops me from doing it.
My workflow is as below:
- Place cd in pc and launch sound juicer
- no release found matching diskid
- Click the submit album in sound juicer

- Login to musicbrainz
- Find the artist or album name
- An existing release is found but this is a download and not a cd. click the add release
- Enter the details of the release
- An existing release is found and this is used as a basis for the track list
- Confirm the track list is the same and add or remove tracks
It is here where I forget to change the medium type so now I have to submit a new edit and wait 7 days or 3 votes.
As the process began with a diskid it should know that I have a cd and warn me to change the medium type
Possible solutions:
- Wait 7 days for edit to go through
- Wait for 3 votes
- Have the release submission warn me that there is a diskid but no mediums that this can be used for
- Clear the medium type, this would require someone changing the type manually but this is better. If you change the medium type from none to cd this is considered an auto edit so if you miss it you can fix it easily.
- Have change medium type an auto edit (assuming most of these are caused by this and similar problems)
