This was requested at support and I thought I'd at least enter a ticket so we can think whether we want it This specific user mentioned that being visibly credited for the images would be "stimulus for further work" (which I suspect is true for a fair amount of people). Not sure how hard this would be, nor if some users would oppose to be credited there since it's more visible than the edit history.
