This has been a long occurring problem for me and easily reproducible at least on my system. When trying to add a tag to an album with lots of tracks, eg. https://musicbrainz.org/release/356bcf92-7260-4a95-b5b8-334df0872593?tport=8000
If I selected all tracks and add a new tag, eg. style and in this case contains the values of Classical; Romantic; Opera then picard freezes never to recover. I've tried using the debug flag but it shows nothing on the log just the last tag entry and then silence; eg.

Hope you can help, it does drive you made after awhile
