Files are not getting loaded on systems with 2 or less CPUs

      Several users have reported that files getting dragged into Picard do not get loaded, but the file count increases.

          My suspicion is that this is only happening on systems with low CPU core count. If the default thread pool ends up providing only a single thread then this might get used by the new pipe server, leaving no threads for other operations, such as file loading.
