By default AcoustID returns no matches if the difference between requested duration and the fingerprint duration for an AcoustID is more than 7 seconds. In some cases this can prevent matches being returned.

The AcoustID server provides an additional parameter "maxdurationdiff", added in https://github.com/acoustid/acoustid-server/commit/88e889476c502e51f004913b2c03a76828582ed5 , which allows setting the allowed duration difference to up to 30 seconds.

Picard could provide a configuration option for this and allow the advanced user to increase the default allowed duration difference.
