      Even though Solr 9 supports Java 11 too, it is commonly packaged for Java 17 which is a long term support (LTS) version too. It also completes the transition from Java EE to Jakarta EE. (Each Jakarta EE version matches a Java SE LTS version.)

      It affects both the Java binding of the MusicBrainz XML Metadata (MMD) Schema, and MusicBrainz Solr itself.
