Please consider implementing a new coverart type (possibly called "Press Kit") to allow attaching things like high quality digital images that may have been used to print the packaging, or high quality images that can be used for file tagging, etc.

Please refer to the #musicbrainz discussion at https://chatlogs.metabrainz.org/brainzbot/musicbrainz/msg/4356476/ for more information.

[STYLE-1176] Add new coverart type "Press Kit"

I agree that "Pres Kit" is an odd name, and there is likely something better that could be used.  If I recall correctly, "Press Kit" was something that @yvanzo suggested during the IRC discussion, so that's the name I used for the ticket.

The issue is that an image assigned to a release group can only be selected from the primary (first) "Front" images for the releases within the group.  My understanding is that MB is about archiving the information (and scanned images) for a release, and there is no real interest in providing a presentation quality image for tagging.  There are other sources (such as fanart.tv) for such images.  If there was a desire to make a presentation quality image available at the release group level (to use with LB for example), perhaps it would be better to allow attaching coverart directly to the release group (as well as the releases within the group), and allow selecting the cover image from the release group images in addition to the current primary front images for the releases within the group?  Unfortunately, I suspect that is a much larger change to implement, and is likely not worth the effort.

Personally, it is less of a concern for me because I use fanart.tv images or images that I prepare myself (based on the fanart.tv quality standards) for my tagging with Picard.  The main reason that I entered this ticket was to capture the IRC discussion and ensure that the idea wasn't lost.

"Press kit" sounds like a strange name for what would almost certainly be mostly used as "pretty square version of the cover whether it comes with the album somewhere or not". I'm not saying it wouldn't make sense to have a "pretty version" type, though, although it seems historically the preference has been to use RG art for that?

Note that if this is implemented, it will require an update to the coverart selection dialog in Picard.
