Candombe is a mainly percussion style that started in the 19th century in South America, specifically in Uruguay and Argentina. Although almost extinct in the latter, is still the most representative of Uruguay's music styles.

Ruben Rada and Jaime Ross are perhaps the most international recognizable performers related to candombe.
