If the recording has tracks from official releases, choose the most common title from official tracks as the basis for the recording title.

This is not always true because of https://musicbrainz.org/doc/Style/Principle/Error_correction_and_artist_intent#Error_Correction

I think it should be explicitly noted that error correction overrides the popularity of the title.  Edits have been voted down because the corrected title isn't the most popular title.

I mis-remembered, the edit that was voted down was Edit Medium, not Edit Recording.  I still think Error Correction should apply there though.

The principles go above everything else, so error correction goes above everything except artist intent, as per

"As a general rule, MusicBrainz editors should correct spelling and punctuation and, to a lesser extent, grammar errors in artists' names, as well as the titles of works, recordings, tracks and releases. However, this rule does not apply if it can be shown that an artist intentionally used unorthodox spelling, punctuation or grammar."
