We currently have a section "Prefer Specific Relationship Types" in Style/Relationships which tells us «You should make an effort to make the relationship type as specific as possible.»

The general principle of being more specific rather than less if it can be helped is generally one that applies to all other things too (should you just enter 2008 XE as release event if you know it's 2008-01-03 FR?), so it might be good to add something about it directly to the Style/Principle page.
