back when i created a particular publication[1], i confused publications and editions, and added an isbn to it.

this now can't be removed; any edit attempt that removes the isbn hangs at the "submit" stage (gray screen / processing indicator never disappear). other edits on the same publication (eg. removing the disambiguation string) worked.
