if it is forgotten to fill out the language field, the whole alias line is disregarded.

the main ill-effect is creation of entities without aliases at all ("why did it not accept the name i entered?"). that could be mitigated by requiring at least one alias, but a warning for a missing language would be a good ideas as well.
