Mardala (Odia: ମର୍ଦ୍ଦଳ, romanized: Mardaḷa) is a Indian classical percussive instrument native to the east Indian state of Odisha, traditionally used as the primary accompaniment in Odissi classical music. It is a two-headed barrel drum with a distinctive timbre and playing technique.
