The "kanásztülök" (also known as "kanászkürt") is a Hungarian folk wind instrument made from cattle horn. It belongs to the family of funnel-mouthpiece instruments. Traditionally, swineherds used its sound when driving animals out, signaling to villagers that livestock should be released into the street. Its decoration represents one of the most characteristic branches of traditional Hungarian shepherd art
Please add this instrument to MB's database. A couple of Hungarian jazz groups use it in folk-jazz-avantgarde recordings. Like Grencsó István
