        • Adam Levy is credited playing backwards electric guitars on Not Too Late. Is this really a separate instrument? :-S – Prodoc 15:20, 08 March 2008 (UTC)
          • Honestly, I highly doubt it. He's probably just playing it behind his back/head, reversed, on in some other strange way. Or perhaps it's a left-hand guitar. I don't know. But I doubt it warrants an instrument listing on its own. – FrederikSOlesen 00:27, 09 March 2008 (UTC)
            • You might want to read this. It's a pretty interesting contraption (and yes, it ''is'' a separate and unique instrument). – HibiscusKazeneko 20:40, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

It was decided at the 25-04-18 monday meeting that this can be served fine with instrument credits and to reopen or make a new ticket with more data should it become common enough.

I posted this in IRC, but I'll state it again here for posterity/easy access:
I'm mostly indifferent on this ticket. I'm not the person who made the initial request; I just did some digging out of boredom one day and found that document. I have no idea what "backwards electric guitar" means on that particular release; it could refer to that performance art contraption, or it could be something completely different.

I was of the opinion of Freso, then after having read hibiscus' link I am just more confused.
to me it seems this would likely be wrongly used for the cases like freso mentioned (which would be more common) and that the Collins thing ages more into "performance art" music" than "music" music"
and that singular style type things like this should maybe have a catch all thing instead of every individual person's creation added separately..?
