- Description: The "pandero cuadrado" (square "pandero") is a hitten membranophone similar to "pandero" but with a squared frame. It's played with hands or fingers, but sometimes with a stick. You can find it in traditional music of Northern and Western Spain (Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Catalonia, western Castile) and even in Portugal, where it's called "adufe".
