The current artist origin map in the global stats only shows the top 1000 artists and displays those on the map.

This results in a pretty empty map at the moment, as a lot of the artists will be coming from a few countries in a shining example of cultural colonialism.
As an example see the attached screenshot, with the only artist from Africa being Akon from Senegal:

A great discovery tool would be to calculate the top {insert-number-here} artists for each country instead.
Making this map exploration into a separate page would also allow zooming into the map and showing the artists on the side after clicking a country (instead of the hover mechanism in stats), allowing to conveniently play some music from the selected country.
