(Note: I'm actually using macOS Music.app (formerly iTunes), but because "Music.app" name is confusable, I'm saying "iTunes" instead)

My All-Time stats https://listenbrainz.org/user/rinsuki/stats/?range=all_time says I listened https://listenbrainz.org/track/e6dca5a4-ce5a-407a-8150-da94ded19f04 (off-vocal ver) >100 times.
but, according to dump (from https://listenbrainz.org/settings/export/ ), I only listened https://listenbrainz.org/track/e6dca5a4-ce5a-407a-8150-da94ded19f04 3 times, which is same with my iTunes play count (and according to my brain's memory, this is almost correct count).
$ grep -r e6dca5a4-ce5a-407a-8150-da94ded19f04 ./listens | wc -l
3
instead, I'm actually listened the normal (w/ vocal) version https://listenbrainz.org/track/b99f7f45-d3ff-431e-9016-e2269c80be6e instead, >100 times. its backed by LB's dumps, iTunes play count, and my brain's memory.
$ grep -r b99f7f45-d3ff-431e-9016-e2269c80be6e ./listens | wc -l
115
(at this time iTunes says I listened normal-ver 125 times)
It seems:
- global stats also affected: according to https://listenbrainz.org/album/93b180e5-91ed-4fe0-b054-15cab59f9108/ , off-vocal ver have a 125 listens while normal vers are only ~50 listens, but I don't think anyone else listened that track so much, even than normal version (and my account is the top listener)
- my histories aren't affected, linked to correct track: e.g. https://listenbrainz.org/user/rinsuki/?min_ts=1735594734
I'm guessing normal version listens are somehow (incorrectly) matched to off-vocal listens, but I don't have an idea why happening this and only on stats but not histories.
Note, I'm using two scrobber:
- ListenBrainz official Spotify importer
- my homemade iTunes scrobber, which always attach MB recording/release IDs when sending to LB (if audio file doesn't have a such metadata then they will be queued to local until I manually links it with MB rec/rels)
- sorry to say but i can't publish the source code because i leftover some private things (e.g. auth tokens) in source codes and hard to remove it, but i can provide some API call samples by inserts mitmproxy to network if you need.
and I'm listening both (b99f7f45-... and e6dca5a4...) tracks on iTunes, so they are probably sent from my homemade scrobber, not from Spotify.
