carl's nginx died and required a restart

      Tons of 500s were logged in the go-away-error.log:

      2011/05/12 23:25:32 [alert] 7026#0: accept() failed (24: Too many open files) while accepting new connection on 72.29.166.157:80

      Stopping and restarting nginx on carl fixed it. Any idea what might cause this?
