I got a "failed query" error message when attempting to edit the release. Details and the the complete error message below.
Release: https://musicbrainz.org/release/d65c3f8f-df2e-41d9-8af2-45587e9e39e7. This release (2008) was created as a copy of an earlier release (2004) including all media, but in reality some media are different in 2008 release.
Edit: I have removed first 2 CDs, and added instead the first 2 CDs of the release https://musicbrainz.org/release/8403d38d-66f3-48bd-9366-a4421fe0455f
Full error message: see attached file (pretty long error message, but essentially "duplicate key value", i.e. violation of a unique DB constraint).
Added to this description after looking on the release once more: I have attempted in the same edit to perform several operations:
- Remove CD #1 and CD #2
- Add new media (CD #1 and CD #2 from https://musicbrainz.org/release/8403d38d-66f3-48bd-9366-a4421fe0455f).
- Re-order media, so that the added CDs are on the correct place, i.e. #1 and #2.
it looks like the original CD #1 and #2 were marked for a deletion, but not actually deleted due to a standard voting period. New media was added as CD #41 and #42. The part of my edit which attempted to move new media to positions #1 and #2 failed, because the old (wrong) media is not really deleted yet, but just marked for deletion.
Probably the GUI should better provide some hints instead of displaying a long technical error.
