While marking recordings on video releases as such it can happen that recordings were incorrectly linked to non-video tracks. If the those recordings are only used on 1 video releases and all other are audio the most straightforward fix is to unset the video attribute and create new recordings for that one video release.

The first obstacle is to click through the dialog for each and every track for creating a new recording (https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/MBS-10589)
Fortunately I've found a way to do this mostly with keyboard:

      1. Open dialog for first track
      2. Tab
      3. Space
      4. Enter

This method though seems to have some glitches occasionally where the dropdown from the search sticks to the top left corner. This also happens when changing recordings while fixing from video to audio-only recording:

Unfortunately there are cases where recordings are shared among multiple video and non-video releases. Untangling such a mess is quite tedious even when track order doesn't change

For fixing those I've first created one new set of recordings for the audio-only releases.
That step can make use of the method above.
Now here comes the harder part, changing recordings for all other releases to use newly created recording. I see two ways to do this manually.
      1. Copy and paste URLs of newly created recordings into release editor
      or
      2. wait for the search indexing to complete so that they are suggested in the release editor

I've gone with the second approach this time. The other approach sucks.
I'd open the dialog for the first recording:

As you can see it only shows the already linked recordings and makes no suggestions initially.

Since the search field has focus I've added a space to trigger the search which also activates suggestions.

Now comes the annoying part. The dropdown obstructs the view on the suggestions and keyboard navigation to more easily select suggested recordings was apparently also not possible:

So I had to use the mouse after all. To add injury to insult the dialog boxes don't stay in the same position after making a choice meaning I'd also have to scroll down every now and then. Doing this all day is no fun.

Also noticed some other display issue that might be related to the "sticky dropdown problem". Option to change recording titles was shown for some recordings even though there seems to be no difference:
