https://musicbrainz.org/doc/How_to_Identify_Labels
This text is very much focused on a historical account for the label/imprint identification and tries to make it clear it is all very very difficult.
To serve as a training documentation, it lacks several parts and makes some educational mistakes.
1. Summary. What is the purpose of this doc? Is it a historical thesis, or is it trying to explain what a label is, or an imprint even?
2. What is the relationship with the other documentation on this subject? There is also a FAQ on the matter...
3. It uses terminology like: "should be reserved to these editors who are willing to do ground-work on structuring imprints and injecting a sense of history into them". Any one with an educational background knows this is not done in explanatory documentation, as it scares off readers and makes them not want to touch the subject.
4. Title confusion. Is this doc about labels, or about imprints? In the end you have learned about imprints, and about the history of labels... (well, as I understand it...)
Suggestion: have these types of documentation checked by users that are not 100% experts, so it does make normal editors of MB enthusiastic about the matter and teaches them how to treat labels/imprints
A rewrite could also be: leave all the history to wikipedia, rephrase the paragraphs for different types of releases. You have a vinyl single, where to look. You have a CD, where to look... etc.
