Manually fixing a release's track titles or durations currently requires a lot of switching between the keyboard and mouse. If I want to move the focus from the current track title/duration to the next track's title/duration, I either need to click on the text field or hit the Tab key six times.
I'm aware that it's possible to open the track parser, copy the listing into a text editor, fix the information there, and then paste the updated text back into the parser, but I've found that it's very easy to accidentally mess up artist credits if the tracks aren't all credited to the release artist, or accidentally clear durations or other information.
It would be convenient if there were keyboard shortcuts to move the focus to the corresponding input in the previous or next track. The obvious ones would be the Up and Down arrow keys, but that would override those keys' existing (platform-defined?) behavior of jumping to the beginning or end of the current input. I don't know how many people use Up/Down in place of Home/End.
Some other less-discoverable options I can think of:
- Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down (Ctrl+Up currently does some weird focus-related thing I don't fully understand – maybe it's focusing the tabs?)
- Shift+Enter and Enter (Enter currently switches to the Recordings tab)
aerozol, any thoughts about this from a UX perspective?
