Description:
I started to manage the artist profile for Carlos Nilmmns (Ross McMillan) on MusicBrainz:
https://musicbrainz.org/artist/62dd3eab-be3c-4db0-a9d6-3f3938303244
While the MusicBrainz profile appears correct and contains no reference to "Marcello Pagin," I have noticed that third-party sites which pull data from MusicBrainz or related sources display this unrelated name in connection with the Carlos Nilmmns artist profile. For example, the Muziekgieterij website shows this unexpected name:
https://muziekgieterij.nl/artist/carlos-nilmmns/
This seems to be a bug or data mix-up somewhere in the MusicBrainz data or its API feeds.
Steps to reproduce:
- View Carlos Nilmmns profile on MusicBrainz (linked above).
- Check data feeds or third-party sites pulling from MusicBrainz (e.g., Muziekgieterij.nl).
- Observe unexpected inclusion of "Marcello Pagin" related to Carlos Nilmmns.
Expected result:
Only relevant data about Carlos Nilmmns / Ross McMillan should appear, with no unrelated artist names.
Actual result:
An unrelated artist name, "Marcello Pagin," appears in association with Carlos Nilmmns data on some third-party sites.
Impact:
This causes confusion for fans, promoters, and venues, and can lead to inaccurate public profiles.
Additional information:
My MusicBrainz profile is up to date and accurate, with no references to "Marcello Pagin." I suspect this could be a bug in the data feed or an incorrect association somewhere in MusicBrainz's backend or linked databases.
