Let's say you have Artist A with the following properties set: Type, Gender, Country, IPI code.
If you merge Artist A into Artist B that has no properties set, the resulting artist will have neither Type, Gender, Country, IPI code defined.

It probably applies too to Recording (ISRC, comment), Work (ISWC, comment) and Release (barcode, comment, country, ...).
