I was trying to change the title of http://musicbrainz.org/release/87ac7a72-0842-3d54-a138-418db6f1f13a/edit from シルクジャスミン to 七里香 and passed through the "Tracklist" step without making any changes. From there, I jump directly to "Edit Note", and see that all of the recordings of the CD have been automatically changed to point at the DVD recordings. See attached screenshot.

These tracks are in the process of being merged, so if this won't reproduce later, try creating a release with two discs with names with identical tracks with a new recording for each track, to get the same kind of setup.

The problem is probably two-fold:

• The server tries to match new recordings even though I didn't touch the tracklist at all
• When it does so, it picks another recording instead of preferring to keep the same one when there are identically named recordings.
