Rendering the timeline eats all my CPU and takes forever

      Dual-core processor with 3.1GHz on each core

      Rendering the basic timeline takes about 30 seconds, adding the edit info takes approximately the same time. This gets even worse if I let the edit information render and then refresh the page

      When doing "stuff" one of my 2 cores is at 100% the whole time and the browser nearly unusable.
