if this has been suggested before, excuse me - but i found no related requests.
is it feasible to totally exclude "Various Artists" from selectable options for track/recording credits when an editor attempts to submit a release to the database (which would more often than not be a VA compilation)? alternatively, prevent the completion of the submission process for as long as any track (and recording, if a new recording is being created) is still credited to Various Artists.
the problem is quite a number of (newer?) editors have the bad habit of leaving the Various Artists credit unchanged in tracklists when submitting a VA release, and simply mask it with the actual artist name as an alias. and these are near impossible to trace back to source, and so blind "leap-of-faith" edits are called for, particularly when the artist name isn't exactly unambiguous.
possible?
