Note how German ("de") is listed between Danish ("da") and English ("en"), and how Spanish ("es") is placed between English ("en") and Estonian ("et").

I doubt this is intuitive for most users (esp. users who have no concept about language/locale codes), and even for me, my first hunch when I tried to look for the Spanish aliases was to look directly above the Swedish one.
