If a user goes to the "edit profile" page and changes their email address, they are told
Your profile has been updated.
However, this isn't true - nothing has been updated. What has actually happened is a new verification email is sent out and when the link in that email is followed then the email address will change.
I would have expected that changing the email address would clear the confirmation date, immediately change the email address, and finally send a confirmation email. If the current behavior is expected then please close this as wontfix.
