Since we made changes to the way we encourage end users to donate, we've stopped receiving non-recurring donations. We used to receive donations every other day or so from non-recurring donations, but now we only receive donations from people who have signed up for recurring donations.
While the total $ figure for incoming money is not important, it is important for us to collect donations from as MANY DIFFERENT people as possible. The US IRS uses this as a critical portion of establishing Public Support. A non profit that cannot show public support may lose its non-profit status, so its important for us to continue collecting donations from as many people as possible.
This bug will need to be tackled in several phases:
1. Phase one: Determine what change exactly made the donations drop off. We removed the broken nag screen and then removed the donation tab. Which of these two (or something else entirely) caused the donations to drop off?
2. Phase two: Once we get to the root of #1, we need to figure out how we can bring back the features that caused #1 to happen. And fast!
3. Phase three: Implement what was decided in phase 2.
