Wikipedia excerpts typically include just the opening paragraph of the wiki, but when initials of names of people are included within the opening paragraph, the first instance of any periods used in such initials are misinterpreted as the end of the sentence, and the rest of the sentence (and paragraph, if it's comprised of just that sentence) is omitted.
