See http://musicbrainz.org/edit/29407496 - "Alias: René Pérez Joglar ()" just looks wrong. Looking at the code, it seems to be because a locale isn't listed (https://bitbucket.org/metabrainz/musicbrainz-server/src/3be9dfe6c8b82e67d69ec54e16e9f57a36a06fa4/root/edit/details/edit_alias.tt?at=beta#cl-24) - clearly, the reasonable choices would be to either explicitly say there's no locale, or just not show the parens at all, which would be my preferred option.
