The page for adding cover art asks the IA if it is overloaded and, if so, warns the user that uploading is likely to fail (MBS-5553). However, this warning is not shown if the status request itself fails, even though that indicates a major problem at the Archive that will in most cases also affect data upload; as demonstrated by the current IA outage.
