e.g. https://musicbrainz.org/statistics tells me that there's currently 919,173 artists, but that doesn't tell me anything about how the value has changed over time. I know that it's possible to display a graph like that - https://musicbrainz.org/statistics/timeline/count.artist - but that's both a hidden feature and the URLs are difficult to remember. Adding links would make it visible to more people and mean that people don't need to know the exact statistic name to be able to load the graph.
