Steps to reproduce:

• Remove the year, month and day for an artist's end area
• Untick the "ended" checkbox
• Leave the end area (if already present) or add an end area (if not yet present)
• Submit

Expected result: It ignores the fact you unticked the ended checkbox and doesn't put it in the edit.
Actual result: It puts the change to the ended flag in the edit, even though the flag doesn't/won't actually get changed because of the end area.
