I have been adding an order to the sub works "Prelude" and "Fugue" of the main work "Prelude and Fugue ....". This work "Prelude and Fugue ...." is in turn a sub work of "Preludes and Fugues Book I". The works in "Preludes and Fugues Book I" already have an ordering.

When I add the ordering to "Prelude 14" and "Fugue 14", of "Prelude and Fugue 14 ...." this works OK, but the work "Prelude and Fugue 14 ...." in "Preludes and Fugues Book I" gets spuriously reorderd (normally to 3)
